Services available

The UNH Speech-Language-Hearing Center provides evaluation and treatment to individuals of all ages who demonstrate a variety of communication challenges and disorders including:

  • Aphasia
  • Apraxia
  • Communication and/or cognitive difficulties associated with Brain Injury
  • Oral Language Disorders
  • Pragmatic Language Disorders
  • Specific Language Impairment
  • Speech Sound Disorders
  • Stuttering
  • Voice Disorders
  • Written Language Disorders [including reading comprehension, decoding, and written expression]

Services are also available to address:

  • Accent Modification
  • Aural Rehabilitation

Therapy sessions are generally one hour in length and are scheduled 1-3 times weekly depending on the needs of the client. Clients and families are active participants in determining treatment goals and family members frequently participate in therapy sessions.

The length of diagnostic sessions is determined by the area/s to be evaluated and sessions may be conducted over two sessions.
