Students in good academic standing with undergraduate degrees in any related field are encouraged to apply. If a student's undergraduate program does not include an introductory statistics course or the equivalent, successful completion of such a course is required before beginning graduate work.

The applicant is responsible for completing the UNH Graduate School’s on-line application, located at http://www.gradschool.unh.edu/apply.php, and paying the required fee. The applicant is also responsible for ensuring that all supporting materials, including personal essay, letters of recommendations, test scores, and transcripts, are sent directly to the Graduate School.  Applicants must submit three letters of recommendation. These letters should address particular strengths that the applicant will bring to the program and should evaluate the applicant's potential in their chosen field.

The department does not require the GRE for admission.

Core area applications are due at the Graduate School by May 15 for fall admission and December 1 for spring admission, but review of applications for fall admission will begin on February 15, and only applications for full-time enrollment received by that date are eligible for department financial aid.

Applicants who are considered for admission will be invited to interview by the admissions committee. A personal interview is required, although a conference call may be acceptable under unusual circumstances. In either event, all expenses will be the responsibility of the applicant.
