Student Awards
Over the years, student essays from the HMP Program have been very
successful in the prestigious national American College of Healthcare
Executives (ACHE) competition. Student winners have received a cash
award and an expense paid trip to Chicago to receive their awards
at the annual meeting of the ACHE. These students have brought national
attention to themselves and to the UNH program.
In addition, each year the Department is able to make awards to
its students. The Health & Human Services Scholar Award for
HMP is given to a junior. Students have also successfully competed
for the Hamilton S. Putnam Scholarship and the Foster McGraw Scholarship
from Association of University Programs on Health Administration.
The Christopher F. Weinheimer Award from HFMA, which carries a $1,000
award, goes annually to two HMP seniors interested in health care
finance.
ACHE Hill Rom Competition
Erin C. Corwine was selected by the HMP faculty to represent the Department in the national Hill Rom competition sponsored by the American College of Healthcare Administrators (ACHE). Her essay was entitled “The Evolving Role of the Hospital Vice-President for Medical Affiars in the Era of Managed Care”.
Christopher F. Weinheimer Scholarship
Eleanor Peters ('04) and Morgan Ann Taylor ('04) were both recipients of a Ch2ristopher F. Weinheimer Scholarship. The Scholarship is sponsored by the New Hampshire-Vermont Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. The awards were presented on February 11 th at the annual awards meeting in Lebanon , NH .
