Undergraduate Program
Academic Minors
The department offers two academic minors. Each requires satisfactory completion of 5 HMP courses for a total of 20 credits. Satisfactory completions means a grade of C- or higher.
No formal application is required. Students petition the Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Health Management and Policy for the formal award of a minor in the last semester prior to graduation.
Academic Minor in Health Management
Students must complete:
HMP 401 U.S. Health Care Systems
HMP 501 Epidemiology and Community Medicine
HMP 570 Social Marketing
HMP 721 Management of Health Care Organizations
HMP 710 Survey of Health Care Financial Management or
HMP 740 Financial Management for Health Care Organizations
Academic Minor in Public Health
HMP 403 Introduction to Public health
HMP 501 Epidemiology and Community Medicine
HMP 505 History of Public Health
HMP 569 Human Behavior and Public Health
HMP 715 Environmental Health (new course as of AY 2008-2009) or HMP 570 Social Marketing
Rules and Procedures
- Any curricula variances must be approved by the HMP Director of Undergraduate Studies.
- Minors offered by the department of health management and Policy are open to any majors at the University of New Hampshire.
- No course(s) used to satisfy a major requirement in any major can be used to satisfy an HMP minor requirement.
