Ph.D. Program in Education Specialization in Experiential/Outdoor Education
Thank you for your interest in the doctoral program in Experiential/Outdoor Education. Our program aim is to develop future leaders in the fields of experiential learning and outdoor education. Doctoral students work closely with Education and Kinesiology faculty to develop research projects and advance knowledge in the field.
The program is a joint effort between the Education Department and the Outdoor Education Program in the Department of Kinesiology. Whereas most Ph.D. programs take place in recreation or natural resources departments, our unique degree program is a specialization within the Education Department doctoral program. Admission into this specialization is purposefully kept small (1-2 students admitted during the fall semester each year). Please consider joining us if our program matches your professional goals.
