RESEARCH FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES - 2007-2008
The Eta Iota Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International awards grants to support research initiatives being undertaken by Eta Iota members. There will be two opportunities to apply for research support: one in the fall and one in the spring. The fall call for proposals will be for undergraduate and graduate student Eta Iota members, and the spring call for proposals will be for faculty and community members of Eta Iota Chapter. Two grants for $500 each will be awarded to student, faculty or community nurse researchers whose work best characterizes the spirit of scholarship for which Sigma Theta Tau is known: one grant will be awarded in the fall and one award awarded in the spring. Should there be no students applying for awards in the fall, the call will go out to all members in the spring and both awards will be made in the spring. Awarding of the grants will be competitive based on blind review of an abstract describing the research. Award winners will be required to present their findings to the membership. Details for submitting research award applications may be found on the Eta Iota web link on the UNH Nursing website.
COMMUNITY SERVICE GRANT
The community member/faculty member grant will be awarded to an Eta Iota member to assist with expenses related to a proposed community service project with the potential to involve and engage chapter members.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Applicants must be active members of Eta Iota. If more than one investigator is included in the research, the first investigator listed must be an Eta Iota member. Announcements of the request for grant proposals will be made online through the Sigma Theta Tau Website and highlighted in the online Newsletter. Grant recipients will be recognized and awards made each year at the fall and spring chapter Business meetings in October and April. Grant recipients will be expected to present their research at Eta Iota annual research presentations.
