Eta Iota Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International
President’s welcome
It is a pleasure to welcome you to Eta Iota's newly revised Web site. We hope this is a way for you to learn about us as an organization and about our events. Our chapter newsletter is in the growing phases and will soon be available on-line. A link to the national office of Sigma Theta Tau International is also available where you may access information about membership, the benefits of membership and general information about Sigma Theta Tau International. In addition, our Eta Iota Website will contain information about the timing and content of applications for our research awards.
I am excited to be working with a dedicated and energetic Board of Directors. We are a group that is committed to continuing to build a strong chapter that is a mix of nurses from both the academic setting and from various practices in the community. We are especially eager to welcome nurses who are working in the community to apply for membership in Sigma Theta Tau's Eta Iota chapter and to offer their names for election to offices within the chapter. Community leaders enrich the Chapter through their induction and contributions to the scholarship and knowledge about the practical application of work in nursing.
I also invite chapter members to become more active in the chapter through participation in service and fundraising activities. In the near future, a survey will go out to all active members of Eta Iota Chapter to determine what you would like to see the chapter accomplish and to note the areas where you would be willing to volunteer a small amount of your time for service to the chapter. We really do find our work together satisfying as we plan and implement our programs and activities to improve the state of nursing and knowledge about our members. I hope to get to know many of you more personally and highlight the talents, ideas and good fellowship you bring to our organization. Watch for updates on our new website ~ together we can truly make a difference!
