In addition to teaching Graduate Field Seminars, and working as a therapist at a local Community Mental Health Center, Karen also manages multiple aspects of the Social Work Department. She brings experiences from her practice, her commitment to social work education, and extensive knowledge of the Department into the social work classroom to enhance and enliven student learning.

Matthew Toms, MSW, LADC matthew.w.toms@gmail.com Phone : 603-208-6187 Matthew Toms, MSW, LADC, received his MSW from the University of New Hampshire. He has been working for 15 years in direct practice in private high schools, residential treatment centers, community mental health agencies, chemical dependency and dual diagnosis day treatment centers, wilderness programs, and primary prevention programs. In addition, he has research and professional, volunteer, and activist experience throughout Latin America and the Caribbean in development, human rights advocacy, and relief work in impoverished communities. Matthew teaches a course focusing on human rights, social development, service learning, and social action in the Dominican Republic and Haiti, including a 9-day experiential component based in Santo Domingo.

Aimee Valeras, MSW, LICSW, Ph.D. aimee.valeras@unh.edu Aimee Valeras MSW, LICSW, Ph.D., attended Boston College for her undergraduate and Masters of Social Work degrees and Arizona State University for her doctorate in social work. She works at the Concord Hospital Family Health Center with the Dartmouth Family Medicine and Leadership Preventive Medicine Residencies in both educational and clinical roles. She has presented nationally and internationally on integrating behavioral health into primary care, on the disability identity, and on qualitative research methodology. She teaches Research Methods in Social Work at UNH's MSW program. In her free time, Aimee enjoys writing, hiking, swimming, and being with her family.

David Worster, MSW, ACSW, LICSW, LISW-CP, CEAP david.worster@yahoo.com Phone : 603-415-5570 David Worster, MSW, ACSW, LICSW, LISW-CP, CEAP, earned his MSW from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. A practicing clinical social worker for over 35 years, he is currently the Director of Employee Assistance Programs for Concord Hospital in Concord NH. David has special interest in Occupational Social Work and has written a number of articles about Employee Assistance Programs. He also recently contributed to a new introductory social work text with two other UNH colleagues. David has served on the Board of Directors for NASW-NH and the International Employee Assistance Professionals Association in additional to his adjunct faculty assignments.
