MENTAL ILLNESS AWARENESS WEEK ACTIVITIES, October 7 - 12

Please join the students and faculty in the Social Work department in honoring National Mental Illness Awareness Week. We are hosting a number of events that are free and open to the university community that you and your students are invited to attend. This agenda also includes programs that are not initiated by the Social Work department but are components of Mental Illness Awareness Week.

 

October 3 UNH Counseling Center hosts an online Depression Screening

 

October 7 NAMI-NH hosts the 5th Annual Walk for Recovery from Mental Illness 2:00 pm on the Soccer Field grounds (South Fruit Street) of the NH State Hospital in Concord.  Registration begins at 12:30pm. For more information or to register as a member of the Social Work Walk Team please contact Rebecca Richmond at rmf5@unh.edu.

 

October 8th — October 11th Information table hosted by social work students on Mental Illness
and Stigma, 2nd Floor of the MUB from 11:30 am-1:00 pm

 

October 10th  Social work students host a Panel Presentation at 7:00 pm in Horton 4. Presenters
include an MSW student, members of "In Our Own Voice" as well as representatives from various agencies providing mental health services.  Refreshments will be served.

 

October 11 NAMI - NH is hosting Pete Earley, author of CrazyA Father's Search Through America's Mental Health Madness will speak at the Concord Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.  No admission fee.
